St. John's Mercy Medical Center is a leader in comprehensive

St. John’s Mercy operates the only Level I Trauma Center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in St. Louis County, and serves as the community hospital for patients with a variety of conditions and health needs.

By providing comprehensive health services within the St.

from a 25-bed infirmary for women and children in 1871 to
the current Medical Center campus in west St. Louis County,
which comprises nearly 80 acres.
The Medical Center campus includes: 979 licensed beds; a
fully accredited teaching hospital; a 100,000-square-foot
Cancer Center with advanced diagnostic and treatment
capabilities; dedicated inpatient women's health services,
including a two-story addition exclusively for mothers and
babies and featuring all private rooms; comprehensive
pediatric services, including a pediatric emergency
department and the only pediatric intensive care unit in St.
Louis County; the largest Burn Center in Missouri; a 120-bed
Skilled Nursing Center; a GI Endoscopy Lab with 12 procedure
rooms; a nine-level Heart Hospital with 96 private patient
rooms, cardiac catheterization labs and 5 Operating Rooms;
and the Surgery Center that provides inpatient and
outpatient surgical services in 28 operating rooms. St. John’s Mercy Health Care also includes: St. John's Mercy Medical Group (SJMMG) a physician-governed group practice composed of board-certified and board-eligible primary care physicians and specialists; Unity Health Network is the managed care division of St. John's Mercy Health Care; Unity Health Services a division of St. John's Mercy Health Care that provides home, retail and ambulatory health services; The Edgewood Program a multidisciplinary chemical dependency treatment program and Medical Office Buildings and Facilities distributed throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan region.
