Western Anesthesiology Associates, Inc.
is an anesthesiology and pain management practice that is
the exclusive provider of anesthesiology services for
patients undergoing surgery and diagnostic and
therapeutic
procedures at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center.

Our practice also provides pain medicine services at St.
John’s Mercy and through four off-site pain management
centers as Pain Management Services. In addition,
Western’s administrative staff provides practice
management services to other anesthesiology and
pain management practices.
Western's Mission to deliver the highest standard of care to all
patients at all times encompasses over 46,000 anesthetics and
24,000 pain management encounters per year. Our practice values,

All of our
physicians obtain board certification in anesthesiology and
provide expert care throughout our challenging and diverse
clinical environment. Many have completed advanced fellowship
training in specialized areas of anesthesia, including pain
management and regional anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology,
critical care, transplantation anesthesiology, and
cardiovascular-thoracic anesthesiology. Our pain management
physicians are board certified in both anesthesiology and
pain
management.
Complementing our physicians is an outstanding
cadre of certified registered nurse anesthetists, anesthesiologist
assistants, physician assistants, and registered nurses. These
select professionals serve to extend and enhance patient care and
other practice initiatives.
